HomeAbout Us

Welcome to the British Automobile Owners Association

The BAOA is a group of British car enthusiasts from the Albuquerque, New Mexico area, although we have members throughout the entire state. And even a few from Colorado,  Arizona, and Texas  Our club is open to owners of all marques of British motorcar, no matter where you live.

Ownership of a British car is not required for membership, but the love of British vehicles and kindness toward their owners is essential.

We are an informal group.  Maybe we are a British car club that likes to socialize over good food and drink, or maybe we are a social club where everyone just happens to own a British car. Either way, everyone is welcome, members and non-members alike.

Check back to our web site occasionally for the latest information on what we're doing.

Regular Events

Membership Meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of the month (except December), usually at a restaurant in the greater Albuquerque metro area. We get together for dinner at 6:30pm and the meeting starts at 7:00pm.

The 4th Saturday Breakfast is, you guessed it, on the 4th Saturday of the month (again, except December).  Sometime we meet for breakfast at a restaurant, sometimes it's a Cars and Coffee-type tire kick in the parking lot of a local coffee shop, and sometimes we take a drive through the mountains for a picnic lunch.

The British Car Roundup is usually held the last Saturday in April (in lieu of the 4th Saturday breakfast). This is Albuquerque's premiere British car show and we typically have over 40 British cars.  It has been hosted by Land Rover Jaguar of Albuquerque the last few years and we will be there again for 2024.

The Rio Grande Valley Regional Rendezvous (RGVRR) is our BIG event of the year and is held the last weekend of September. This is our annual weekend rally where we get together for three days of driving, dining, car shows, and overall British car camaraderie.  We have been holding the RGVRR since 1990 and we move it to a different city each year, alternating between a northern and southern New Mexico location.

Other Things We Sometimes Do

Tech Sessions.  Installing a tonneau cover, replacing a water pump on a TR7, or any other knowledge and skill that someone wants to share with the club.

Wine Tasting at a local vineyard,

The Flapjack Flip is a 4th Saturday Pancake Breakfast that has been moved to a picnic ground in the East Mountains, in either June or July.

Impromptu Saturday Drives or Tire Kicks if the weather forecast looks good and we just want to get out.
